Job DetailsJob Location: Parkview Retirement Center - Sanford, NC 27330Salary Range: $11.50 - $25.50 HourlyMed-Techs are responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily life in a positive manner and environment and distributing medications to residents in accordance with state regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interacts with residents and staff in a professional, friendly and compassionate manner at all times.
  • Engages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization and activity while providing personal care assistance.
  • Conducts rounds to check on resident needs and responds to resident needs/requests for care promptly.
  • Assists in bathing, dressing, and toiletry needs of residents.
  • Reports any change of resident condition or concerns, or family and resident concerns to supervisor.
  • Light housekeeping of resident rooms, including cleaning up spills or other accidents.
  • Escorts residents to dining room for meal services.
  • Serves meals to residents in dining room or resident rooms/apartments.
  • May launder resident clothing and or bed linens.
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings.
  • Completes regular training to remain in compliance with State regulations.
  • Completes training required by State before distributing medications.
  • Makes med passes daily to distribute medications to residents as prescribed.
  • Documents medication distribution in MARS.
  • Counts medications with on-coming shift Med-Tech as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Job requires walking and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Greets visitors to the community in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements.
QualificationsQualifications
  • 18 years of age; high school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with senior preferred.
  • Must complete required orientation and training before attending to residents.
  • Additional annual training may be required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently, as well as with co-workers.
  • Effectively communicate with residents and families in English.
  • Demonstrate desire to be a team player.
  • Regular attendance is required.
Working Conditions
  • May require working with challenging residents.
  • Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, families and guests.
  • Weekend, evening, night, and Holiday work if needed.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
Physical Requirements
  • Walking and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat.
  • Talk and hear.
  • Ability to lift, push and/or pull: Up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be mentally and physically capable of working in high stress situations while multi- tasking.
