Job Location: Parkview Retirement Center - Sanford, NC 27330
Salary Range: $12.00 - $14.00 Hourly
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance of the community building and grounds, including repairs and make ready apartments, under direction of the Maintenance Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare vacant resident apartments, including painting, carpet cleaning, general repairs and housekeeping
- General maintenance knowledge (replacing faucets and changing filters)
- Interacts with residents and staff in a professional, friendly and compassionate manner at all times.
- Completes make-ready process of vacant resident apartments, including painting, carpet cleaning, and general repairs.
- Provides general repairs and maintenance in resident apartments and common areas.
- Responsible for proper use and storage of tools and materials.
- Responds to emergency calls as needed.
- Maintains building and grounds to company standards, which may include painting, mowing, landscaping and trash pick-up/disposal.
- Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements.
- Demonstrates high standards of ethics and personal accountability.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Job requires walking and standing for extended periods of time.
- Push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.
QualificationsQualifications
- 18 years of age; High School Diploma
- Current driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Two years’ experience in maintenance such as painting or carpentry required
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and general apartment and building maintenance required
- Experience in the safe handling of tools normally used in maintenance projects required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of safe handling of tools normally used in maintenance projects.
- Drive, desire, and willingness to learn.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with residents and co-workers in English.
- Demonstrate good judgement skills.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently, as well as with co-workers.
- Demonstrate desire to be a team player.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions
