Job description

Job Requirements and Responsibilities

Must be CNA certified and listed on the TMU registry as having completed the Medication Aide Program. This license is obtained through a college course. Please do not apply if you are not a QMA. CBRF med passers are not eligible.

Hiring for PMS and NOC shift.

Key Responsibilities include:
  1. Follow current standards of hygiene, safety, and infection control when handling, storing, and disposing of medications.
  2. Take and record vital signs when administering medications as required.
  3. Recognize the resident's right to refuse medication and notify the appropriate RN/LPN when deciding not to administer medication or treatment.
  4. Clarify any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate, ineffective, or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed nurse (RN/LPN).
  5. Monitor residents who self-administer medications and report deviations from the plan of care to the licensed or registered nurse.
  6. Secure the medication cart and remove discontinued, outdated, or deteriorated drugs from inventory.
  7. Recognize and report unsafe conditions related to medication provision.
  8. Accurately document medication administration and report any reactions to medications.
