Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a part-time day-shift Unit Secretary/PCA to support nursing staff and patient care in the Lafayette area. The role includes direct patient care duties under supervision and clerical responsibilities to keep patient flow and records accurate.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and CPR certification or completion of the IU Health PCA education program. Prior acute care experience or completion of the IU Health PCA program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR may be required and unit secretary training may be provided.
• Previous acute patient care experience or completion of IU Health PCA education program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under nurse direction.
• Perform unit clerical duties and maintain patient records.
• Assist with testing scheduling and patient sign-in.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Provide information and directions to staff, patients and families.
