The University of Southern California Verdugo Hills Hospital (Keck Medicine) seeks a Unit Secretary to support nursing operations on the assigned unit, performing clerical tasks, coordinating patient care activities, and providing courteous front-line reception.

Strong English communication, medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Word are required; BLS certification and AB508 training must be completed within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Appropriate Telephone Skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) required for ED/Geropsych; if no card on hire, must be obtained within 30 days.
