Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, GA is seeking a Nursing Support role to assist with patient care across shifts. The position involves 3 x 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends, under the supervision of a registered nurse.

You will contribute to a safe patient environment and participate in ongoing care improvements. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred clinics experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ PCT experience preferred.
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives and supports quality standards.
• Follows isolation guidelines and uses protective equipment; maintains a safe environment.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in delivering patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Assists in obtaining nursing history and reports abnormalities.

Job Description

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.

• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Grad or Equivalent

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required]
• OR NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required]
• OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Required]
• OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Required]
• OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]

Pay Range: $15.31 - $24.50
