Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 12-hour patient-centered care on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of individualized care, following the Watson Model and SBAR handoffs.

The role requires a nursing degree with eligibility for CA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and preferred experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Nursing preferred; associate degree acceptable.
• Active RN license and willingness to participate in residency program.
• Bilingual Spanish helpful; strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a 12-hour shift.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the Watson Model.
• Coordinate with care teams and discharge planning to meet patient needs.
• Document care accurately; communicate changes using SBAR.
• Uphold patient safety and regulatory standards; participate in quality initiatives.
• Assist with unit orientation and equipment setup as needed.
• Support Care Mangers and contribute to performance improvement plans.
