Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY seeks an RN for the Med/Surg unit with telemetry experience. Requires 2 years of Med/Surg, BLS within 3 months, and telemetry course. Strong leadership and exceptional communication are essential.

Role involves direct patient care, safety-focused handling, and potential duties as a charge nurse. Shift: 12 hours Day Shift; 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• 2 years Med/Surg experience.
• BLS required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Course in telemetry monitoring (In House Transfers).
• Ability to provide quality patient care and assess patient needs (clinical, teaching, mental, spiritual).
• Must recognize safety issues and use of lifts for safe patient handling.
• Ability to function in stressful situations with problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership with prioritization and delegation; may serve as charge nurse.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care on the Med/Surg unit.
• Assess clinical, educational, mental and spiritual needs of patients.
• Adhere to safety protocols including patient lifts and moving patients.
• Demonstrate leadership by prioritizing and delegating tasks; may serve as charge nurse.
• Maintain excellent communication with patients, families and care team.
