Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead and coordinate nursing care for patients in medical and surgical settings. You will assess and plan care, supervise staff, and ensure safety and adherence to hospital standards.

The role may require shift work including weekends and on-call as needed; strong clinical leadership and patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• RN license must be current in Texas or compact state.
• BSN preferred; associate/baccalaureate/diploma acceptable for entry.
• Valid BLS certification required; ACLS as unit requires.
• Must maintain applicable ARC/AHA certifications per unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgery.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care per policies and standards.
• May work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and on-call when required.

Education

Registered Nurse license (TX)

BSN preferred

Associate/Baccalaureate/Diploma in Nursing

Current BLS certification

ACLS certification (as unit requires)
