Job summary

Duncan Regional Hospital, Inc. is seeking a patient sitter to provide direct, continuous observation and basic care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. This part-time, on-site role supports patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The position emphasizes compassionate patient interaction, adherence to infection-control policies, and accurate documentation of care, with opportunities to contribute to a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• Fluent English in spoken and written form.
• Ability to send/receive emails and use basic IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN.
• Direct observation of the patient at all times.
• Assist patients to the bathroom.
• Remove items from the room that might be used to harm
• Assist the patient with meals/feeding.
• Communicate with the patient care team regularly.
• Demonstrate compassion and empathy toward patients.
• Follow infection-control policies and protect patients and team members.
• Document patient care timely and accurately.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Follow DRH Standards of Behavior and DRH core values.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
