Job summary

BMCHS is seeking a Patient Safety Observer (Per Diem) to provide one-to-one monitoring for patients at risk of suicide or harm. The role requires staying at arm's length, continuous observation, and prompt reporting to the charge RN whenever changes occur.

The position is part-time, per diem, located at BMC Brighton. Candidates must have a high school diploma and obtain active BLS certification by start date.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate verbally and in writing in the English Language.
• Able to lift, transfer and move patients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients at risk for suicide, self-injury, or harm to others.
• Must be within arm's length of the patient at all times.
• Report significant changes in patient status to the assigned RN immediately.
• Assist patients with Activities of daily living (ADLS).
