Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on 6 East Med/Surg. You will implement and monitor care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary rounds, and ensure accurate documentation according to policies.

A Diploma in Nursing with active RN licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification within 30 days are required, along with at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration required as part of nursing qualifications.
• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month (30 days) of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
