Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Cleburne, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Department. Full-time nights (7P-7A), 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday requirements.

This 34-bed unit provides care for general medical and post-surgical patients, with emphasis on patient safety and quality care. You will use the Nursing Process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care, ensure age-appropriate safety practices, and participate in education and professional growth

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care required.
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire required.
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire.
• One (1) year of RN experience in Med/surg strongly preferred.
• Charge nurse/preceptor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
