Job summary

North Texas Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for the Medical-Surgical Unit on the Night shift (7p-7a) in Texas. The role requires direct and indirect patient care, effective communication with physicians and staff, and the ability to perform comprehensive assessments across age groups.

Candidates should hold an RN license in Texas, be BLS certified, and obtain ACLS and NIHSS within 90 days. Prior Med-Surg experience is preferred; a strong commitment to patient education is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates or better in Nursing.
• Current RN license in Texas.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS within first 90 days.
• NIHSS certification within first 90 days.
• Previous MedSurg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical unit.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians, Nurse Manager and co-workers.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as per policy.
• Educate patient and family regarding pain management and treatment plans.
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform services within licensure.
• Follow the six medication rights to reduce medication errors.
