Job summary

University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Chief Nursing Officer in leading the patient care team. The role focuses on safety, recovery and comfort of patients, applying the nursing process and facilitating education and advocacy.

You will help plan and deliver care, precept new staff, and collaborate across departments to ensure high-quality outcomes. California RN licensure is required, with BSN preferred and mandatory certifications updated within 30

Qualifications

Graduation from a Registered Nurse program is required.
California RN license active or pending transfer.
BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certifications within 30 days of hire; PALS/NRP preferred.
BSN is preferred if not obtained on hire; may be pursued within 5 years.

Responsibilities

Support the Chief Nursing Officer in leading the patient care team to ensure safety, recovery and comfort of patients.
Lead planning and delivery of patient care for shifts; participate in unit-wide improvement.
Precept, validate competencies of new hires and nursing students.
Coordinate with RNs, LVNs and CNAs; ensure effective communication and delegation.
Educate patients and families about conditions and self-care within scope of practice.
