Job summary

Atrium Health Lincoln Med Surg Unit is seeking a registered nurse to join our patient-centered team. The unit handles a diverse range of cases including pediatric, palliative, hospice, infectious disease, behavioral health, and orthopedic care.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with the hospitalist team to ensure safe, high-quality care. Telehealth knowledge is valued for cross-location coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where care is provided (multi-state compact or single state).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications may be preferred.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth must be licensed in the client location state(s).
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
• Administers medications, therapies, and treatments according to clinical protocols.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area to meet patient care needs.
• Demonstrates effective communication, teamwork, and ethical decision-making.
