Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for Med Surg 2E. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, with a 7a-7p weekday schedule and some weekend requirements. Primary duties include patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Applicants should have an RN license active in the state, BLS certification, and experience with electronic health records. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in electronic health records and related clinical software.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to optimize outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and validates clinical decisions with team input.
• Delivers medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols; performs procedures as required.
• Maintains comprehensive, timely documentation in the EHR and adheres to policies.
