Job summary

Adventist HealthCare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Medicine Department in Rockville, MD. This role emphasizes patient care and professional development, with three 12-hour day shifts per week.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least 1 year of RN experience and Maryland RN license is required. BLS is mandatory, and ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required by specialty.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non‑nursing duties appropriately.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient‑centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct efficient literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.
