Job summary

Tenet Desert in Joshua Tree, California is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for Med Surg to deliver high-quality professional care in a demanding medical-surgical environment. You will assess, plan, and implement nursing care tailored to each patient’s needs, while collaborating with the care team to optimize outcomes.

The role is full-time day shift, 7:00am to 7:30pm, with every-other-weekend requirements and a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• CA RN license is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire is required.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation course or demonstrated competency required by end of orientation.
• 1 year acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides high quality professional nursing services in a medical and surgical environment.
• Maintains knowledge of the nursing process and path physiology disease; applies nursing process in assessment.
• Develops a plan of care based on assessments with appropriate interventions.
• Ensures each patient has a care plan with interventions aligned to assessment findings.
• Organizes patient care responsibilities and assigns ancillary staff by skill and experience.
• Educates patients and plans discharge needs; documents education in chart.
• Administers medications safely and adheres to safety protocols.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and informs on informed consent as needed.
• Observes patient rights and elder abuse reporting requirements.
• Oversees competency development and annual re-appraisals for staff.
