Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for Medical Surgical Acute 6T. The role supports patients recovering from surgery and managing acute/chronic conditions, with opportunities to grow skills in a collaborative hospital setting.

The department offers day shifts, a 7:00 AM–7:00 PM schedule, and a $15,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. BSN preferred; new grads welcomed to join and develop their expertise.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current (preferred).
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health.
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions.
• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration (e.g., changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, mental status).
• Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions.
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure patient needs are met.
• Provide patient education on condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• Communicate with doctors, specialists, therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans.
• Epic computer charting.
• New grads welcome.
