Job summary

TCH Medical Center in Houston, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for our General Med/Surg unit (20WT), a 34-bed unit caring for kidney, liver transplant, renal and GI patients. The role is full-time days, 7a–7p.

You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, participate in rounds, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in nursing.
• BLS certification required.
• 9 months of professional nursing experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, time management and flexibility.
• Knowledge of nursing process; critical thinking; collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents comprehensive patient assessments.
• Analyzes situations, anticipates changes, updates care plan.
• Participates in rounds/conferences and documents in chart.
• Assists patients and families in implementing the plan of care.
• Communicates with care team and ensures timely meds and treatments.
• Demonstrates professional behavior and teamwork.
