Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our Medical-Surgical Rehabilitation Department on a full-time basis to support the therapy needs of our hospitalized patients. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• DC License to practice before start of employment.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Professionals (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed assessments of adult patients’ neurological, musculoskeletal, sensory, cognitive and functional needs in the acute hospital setting.
• Create and implement individualized therapy plans that support functional recovery and transition of care planning.
• Coordinate closely with nurses, physicians, rehab staff, social workers and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Provide guidance and education to patients and caregivers.
