Job summary

Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support RNs and LPNs with daily patient care and to help maintain a safe, organized care environment. The role involves assisting with daily living activities and ensuring effective communication within the health care team.

The PCT will take and record vital signs, assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, and specimen collection, and report findings to the care team. Emphasis on infection control and PPE is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in acute care settings preferred or currently enrolled in a nursing program.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with basic patient care and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs and patient data, reporting to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and mobility aids.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of walkers/crutches/canes/wheelchairs.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform finger-stick blood glucose monitoring.
• Communicate patient information to the care team and adhere to infection control.
• Maintain PPE usage and participate in safety and quality initiatives.
• May provide continuous observation and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
