Job summary

Aurora West Allis Medical Center in West Allis, WI is seeking motivated Registered Nurses for 6 South Med/Surg Oncology. This 34-bed inpatient unit cares for pneumonia, COPD exac, pancreatitis, renal issues, post-op, and oncology.

New grads and experienced RNs are welcome and encouraged to pursue chemo certification after two years. Join a collaborative, evidence-based team focused on compassionate patient care, with opportunities to develop versatile clinical skills and advance certifications

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
New RN’s and experienced RN’s welcome.

Responsibilities

Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and preceptor-directed orientation.
Develop time management, triage, communication, pharmacology, lab interpretation, and pathophysiology understanding across med/surg patients.
Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care per standards, policies and procedures.
Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multidisciplinary team.
Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient-centered care and team-minded support.
Be a valued member of a highly skilled, resilient nursing team delivering quality and compassionate healthcare to diverse patient populations.
