Job summary

Scotland Memorial Hospital seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Nursing Med Surg: Observation Unit. The role requires NC or multisate RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and strong communication and organizational skills.

You will supervise room staff, ensure patient safety, and coordinate care with multiple departments in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include maintaining standards, documenting procedures, and ensuring consent accuracy.

Qualifications

• Graduate Of Accredited Nursing Program with licensure requirements.
• Current NC or Multistate RN licensure; current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stay current with best practices in gastroenterology nursing.
• Ensure proper technique according to standards.
• Supervise personnel in the room and assist as needed.
• Ensure patient care through identification, chart checks and reporting changes.
• Confirm consent forms are accurate and signed prior to procedures.
• Maintain proper body alignment during procedures.
• Verify supplies and equipment are ready and functional.
• Care for specimens and cultures per policy.
• Complete documentation and charges.
• Escort patient to care unit and report to nurse.
• Interview patient to assess needs and condition.
• Prepare supplies and materials for patient needs.
• Ages: ensure competency across patient age groups.
