Job summary

Ardent Health Services seeks a day shift, full-time Director of Nursing for Med Surg in Tulsa, OK. The role leads a 38-bed specialty surgical unit with ~45 staff, driving quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and budget planning, while coaching staff and maintaining physician engagement.

The environment emphasizes people-first care and strong patient outcomes. Required BSN and active RN license in OK, ACLS within 60 days, PALS within 90 days, and BLS within 14 days; 3–5 years nursing

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ clinical nursing experience in area of specialty.
• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license or compact license in OK.
• ACLS within 60 days of hire; PALS within 90 days; BLS within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Executes strategic planning, leads mentoring/coaching and identifying department succession strategy.
• Oversight of physician relationships and engagement.
• Development and oversight of quality initiatives, staffing and productivity guidelines, and customer service goals.
• Analyses and monitors compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.
• Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for staff members, and participates in guidance and educational programs.
• Reviews new equipment and supplies as needed with sales representatives and medical staff.
• Develops, implements and evaluates policies, standards and programs that supports unit/departments.
• Develops and submits budget strategies and capital budgets for the unit/departments.
• Uses forecasted budget to guide expenditure decisions.
• Initiates activities to enhance revenues and support cost reduction and containment activities.
• Demonstrates empathy, intentionally works to put others at ease.
• Fosters intradepartmental collaboration to ensure efficient processes.
• Oversee the hospital's low-volume emergency services area in partnership with the Med Surg team.
• Manage and support case management services, including oversight of case management staff.
• Provide administrative oversight of contracted physical therapy services and vendor relationships.
