Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Med/Surg unit. This full-time night position runs 7P-7A, providing essential patient care and daily living support with a range of procedures.

The role includes monitoring vitals, assisting mobility, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKGs, IV removal, specimen collection and Foley catheter handling under RN supervision. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One of several approved education programs listed in the ad.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation needs.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Conduct point-of-care testing and EKG testing.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion and removal.
