Job summary

BARNS Barnesville Hospital is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Med/Surg. The role involves rotating night and day shifts with weekend requirements.

You will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and support patient education and family teaching as part of a collaborative care team. Minimum qualifications include an active LPN license in Ohio or via eNLC and BLS certification within 30 days of hire, plus background checks as required.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in Ohio or via eNLC.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• State and Federal background check as required for regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as per patient plan of care and under supervision of the RN or overseeing role.
• Performs designated therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Observes, records and reports patient concerns, symptoms and progress promptly.
• Assists physicians and overseeing role with examinations and procedures.
• Contributes to nursing assessment by collecting and reporting data.
• Observes patient condition and reports deviations to the overseeing role.
• Participates in developing the patient plan of care and priority setting.
• Assists in patient/family education and rehabilitation per teaching plan.
• Documents nursing interventions and responses to care for health team.
• Administers medications as directed (IM, SubQ, IV, oral, nebulization, MDI).
• Obtains instruction from overseeing role when implementing nursing techniques.
