Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical-Surgical General Surgical Dept. The unit is a 36-bed Magnet facility in a Level I Trauma Center, offering self-scheduling and opportunities for growth.

Work hours are full-time 7a-7p with rotating weekends/holidays. Requirements include an Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred), Texas RN license, BCLS, CPI training within 90 days, and 1 year of RN experience (2+

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or the completion of an RN Residency program
• 2+ years med surg experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
