Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for the MedSurg Float Pool, providing direct nursing care across MedSurg and mixed acuity units on our Main and Saints campuses. The role includes a nights shift, a weekend/holiday rotation, and a pathway with four experience-based levels.

The position requires MA RN licensure and BLS certification, with BSN preferred. It offers opportunities for professional growth, performance improvement involvement, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Department Specific: Certification(s) relevant to the department and the type of patient care being provided may be required.
• Experience based on level (I, II, III, or IV).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Integrates evidence-based practice into clinical care.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops and evaluates the patient's plan of care.
• Uses nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care.
• Manages patient assignment and delegations based on team needs.
• Develops a comprehensive discharge plan and utilizes community resources.
• Supports the development of new staff and facilitates their transition.
• Precepts and mentors department staff.
• Pursues professional development and participates in departmental committees.
