Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Educator for Geauga & Portage Med/Surg to lead clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff across shifts. The role focuses on ensuring competency and adherence to standards while promoting evidence-based practice.

The Educator collaborates with the Nursing Education and Professional Development department to identify learning needs, design strategies, and evaluate effectiveness, while maintaining PHI security and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• 3+ years Med/Surg RN clinical experience.
• Experience with education in clinical setting.
• RN licensed in Ohio or multi-state compact.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure staff competency on hire and annually.
• Facilitates adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Coaches and develops staff to promote quality and affect change.
• Identifies learning needs and develops educational strategies with Nursing Education and Professional Development.
• Adheres to ANA standards and professional development roles while maintaining PHI security.
