St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to obtain or receive specimens, perform clinical laboratory tests, and interpret results within critical limits.

The MLS will ensure quality control, conduct preventive maintenance, and organize work to meet deadlines, while keeping data validated and accurate.

Qualifications include a CLS degree or equivalent, and ASCP eligibility, with strong computer and communication skills.

Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for obtaining or receiving specimens, performing clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understanding method principles, performing quality control, performing preventive maintenance, and interpreting results accurately, acceptably and within critical limits. The MLS works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and validates all data obtained.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science OR Bachelor's in some other field of study AND completion of a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science program OR MT-HEW certification will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
