Tower Health's St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the hospital's clinical lab.

The MLS will obtain or receive specimens, perform standardized tests, and interpret results within critical limits to ensure accurate patient care. The role requires independent organization, adherence to QC procedures, and proactive maintenance of instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent with MLS program completion.
• MT-HEW certification may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
• Alternative pathway includes completion of MLS program after another degree.

Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for obtaining or receiving specimens, performing clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understanding method principles, performing quality control, performing preventive maintenance, and interpreting results accurately, acceptably and within critical limits. The MLS works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and validates all data obtained.
