Job summary

Real is seeking a Medical Device Manufacturing Technician for the 2nd shift located in North San Jose, CA. The role involves electromechanical assembly of robotic modules, following detailed instructions, and verifying components across multiple product modules to ensure quality and compliance.

You will perform functional and diagnostic testing with calibrated tools, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with Production leadership, NPI, Quality, and Operations to support pilot builds and product

Qualifications

• 2+ years of manufacturing technician experience.
• Background in Medical Device preferred.
• Testing and troubleshooting on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electromechanical assembly and system-level integration of robotic modules.
• Interpret and apply assembly procedures, MPIs, TPIs, and engineering docs.
• Conduct functional, electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic testing with calibrated equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rework complex issues; escalate to engineering as needed.
• Perform in-process inspections and support quality verifications.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing leadership, NPI engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve challenges.
• Provide feedback to engineering for improving MWIs, MPIs, and TPIs.

Location: North San Jose, CA

Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm Monday-Friday

Duration: Multiyear Project

Vacation Time: 13 days of PTO Annually

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced electromechanical assembly and system level integration of robotic system modules including joints, control modules, sensors, and cable harnesses using detailed work instructions, and engineering documentation.
• Interpret and apply assembly procedures, MPIs, TPIs, and engineering documents to correctly build, verify, and validate mechanical and electromechanical components across multiple product modules.
• Conduct functional, electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic testing using calibrated equipment, test fixtures, torque tools, multimeters, and relevant software-based test procedures.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and rework complex electrical and mechanical issues including alignment, sensor faults and calibration deviations and escalte systemic issues to engineering.
• Perform in process inspections and contribute to quality verifications to ensure adherence to workmanship and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing leadership, NPI engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and support successful pilot builds and product introductions.
• Provide detailed feedback to engineering teams for improving Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWI), Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI), and Test Process Instructions (TPI), ensuring accuracy, clarity, and manufacturability.

Preferred:

• Experience with robotics, motion-control systems, or surgical device assembly involving advanced troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and fixture validation.
• Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and the ability to identify opportunities for workflow or process optimization.
