Job summary

RTX is seeking an Onsite Inspector with at least 1 year of experience to perform advanced inspection processes on aircraft parts at our Midland, GA site.

You will set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, create measurement programs, and log results while coordinating with multiple departments to meet schedules and commitments. U.S. citizenship is required for access to program information.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience inspecting aircraft parts.
  • HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills for a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CMMs for calibration and inspection of parts.
  • Create programs to perform part and tooling measurements.
  • Log and communicate results and any out-of-spec parts.
  • Coordinate with departments to meet schedules and resources.

The principal duties of this position:
  • Performing advanced inspection processes at MECOE
  • Mastering a variety of tooling and measurement equipment to accomplish inspection processes
  • Interpreting technical data in various forms in order to validate engine configuration
What You Will Do:
  • Set-up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform calibration of test and measurement equipment and / or inspect customer parts
  • Create programs to perform part & tooling measurements
  • Appropriately log and communicate results and out-of-spec parts
  • Review schedules and assist in planning, coordinating and utilizing resources daily to meet company and customer commitment
  • Communicate with all departments to report on part status
  • Assist in resolution of operational, quality, and/or maintenance resource issues when they arise
  • Report maintenance related issues with equipment to appropriate personnel
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • 1+ years' experience inspecting aircraft parts
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills are needed for a team-oriented environment.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Value:
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License, or 2+ years' relevant experience.
  • Turbine engine overhaul, inspection and repair experience, precision measuring tool usage, preferred in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Inspection, and/or Assembly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Experience in operating Coordinate Measuring Machines with an emphasis in programming.
