Job summary

Skild AI is seeking a Mechatronics Technician to help build and test prototypes, sub-assemblies, and testing rigs for robotics platforms. You will interpret schematics, assemble test hardware, and support manufacturing workflows alongside Electrical, Mechanical, and Firmware Engineers.

You will bring 3+ years in a prototype/development lab, strong PCBAs/cables experience, and hands-on electromechanical skills to help accelerate prototyping and reliability improvements for scalable production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as an engineering technician in a prototype or development lab.
• Ability to read/interpret PCBA schematics, cable drawings, and test procedures.
• Hands-on with prototype electro-mechanical hardware (PCBAs, cables, harnesses, robotic/vehicle systems).
• Soldering, crimping, rework, cable assembly to IPC standards; familiarity with electrical components, tools, test equipment.
• Strong grasp of fundamental electrical engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Build and test prototypes, sub-assemblies, and feasibility units under engineering guidance.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, and layouts to perform testing, checkout, troubleshooting, and rework of PCBAs and harnesses.
• Fabricate custom test equipment, boxes, and harnesses; procure and source components as needed.
• Operate and set up standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, supplies, DMMs) and perform PCBA/cable rework to IPC standards.
• Adapt plans quickly in a fast-paced environment with evolving goals.
