Skild AI Inc. is seeking an R&D Assembly Technician to join our hardware team.

You will assemble, wire, and calibrate prototype and early-production units, collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to feed frontline build experience back into designs. The role emphasizes hands-on tinkering in a fast-moving R&D environment, with opportunities to grow into BOM and build-system tasks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on assembly experience with electromechanical hardware.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving R&D environment with ambiguous documentation.
• Reading CAD and GD&T; basic electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and calibrate prototype units and early production units, including mechanical assembly and wiring.
• Identify and surface assembly issues; provide DFA/DFM feedback for design revisions.
• Develop and refine assembly work instructions as processes are established.
• Troubleshoot build issues with the engineering team and contribute to problem solving.
• Potentially grow into BOM and build-system work (OpenBOM, version control) based on interest.
