Job summary

AFL in Duncan, SC is seeking a Mechatronics Technician II to support maintenance and process engineering by installing, improving, and troubleshooting automated equipment. This growth-oriented role offers exposure to new equipment installs, system upgrades, and advanced controls technologies in a modern facility.

You will work with PLC-controlled equipment, vision systems, laser scanners, and smart machines, collaborating with Maintenance and Process Engineering teams to deliver reliable

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, or similar.
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience with automated or PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to connect to a PLC and troubleshoot using ladder logic.
• Experience with electrical wiring and control panels.
• Mechanical aptitude for assembly, adjustment, and repair.
• Comfortable reading schematics and technical documentation.
• MS Office proficiency; PLC software or SolidWorks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• PLC-based troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment (I/O, sensors, drives, safety circuits).
• Electrical and mechanical support for automation projects and equipment upgrades.
• Installation, wiring, and checkout of machines, automation cells, and production equipment.
• Support of vision systems, laser scanners, safety devices, and sensors.
• Read and use electrical schematics, ladder logic, and OEM documentation.
• Assist with new equipment installations, relocations, and commissioning.
• Partner with Maintenance, Process Engineering, and external integrators.
• Follow all quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
