Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrollment in, or willingness to enroll in, an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program in Mechatronics Engineering Technology or related field.
• Strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance operations.
• Ability to follow instructions, learn new tasks, and apply technical concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance activities under supervision of experienced technicians.
• Assist with equipment inspection, preventive maintenance, and basic repair tasks.
• Participate in mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to develop multi-craft skills.
• Support troubleshooting by observing and learning diagnostic processes.
• Follow safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, and safe maintenance practices.
• Assist in equipment disassembly, repair, and reassembly to build hands-on capability.
• Document maintenance activities, including work orders and inspections.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas per 5S standards.
• Engage in mentorship phases spanning mechanical and electrical rotations.
• Attend required coursework in Mechatronics while applying concepts at work.
• Demonstrate ownership of safety, learning progression, and adherence to procedures.
