Job summary

VIAVI Solutions in Santa Rosa, CA, is hiring a Planned Maintenance Technician to perform PMs, inspections, lubrication, and component replacements on production equipment. You will learn through coursework and on‑the‑job training, advancing toward higher‑skill maintenance roles within the department.

You will support plant operations by maintaining utilities, documenting findings, and ensuring equipment reliability with safe work practices during 12‑hour shift operations.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of mechanical or maintenance experience in manufacturing or related environments.
• Experience with inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and replacements is a plus.
• Familiarity with production machinery, sensors, motors, pneumatics or simple electrical devices.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings, PM plans and wiring diagrams.
• Know-how on PLC/HMI reset procedures and safe electrical boundaries.
• Knowledge of LOTO/energy isolation and NFPA 70E safety concepts.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs via CMMS: inspections, lubrication, torque checks, wear-item replacement.
• Rebuild subassemblies, install components, and assist hardware mods.
• Support plant: maintain utilities to keep lines stable.
