Job summary

Sonaca North America in Vista, CA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to maintain production equipment and facility systems. The role emphasizes electrical and mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics to keep machinery running safely.

You will read schematics, operate machine shop tools, weld, fabricate, and work with 480V 3-phase systems, VFDs, PLCs, and control circuits. A strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; pre-employment assessment if not present.
• HVAC, Electrical Journeyman or Boiler operator licenses preferred.
• Strong knowledge of 480V 3-phase power, motor starters, VFDs, PLCs, and 24VDC control systems.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Reads and interprets electrical/mechanical prints and schematics.
• Experience with manual machining and basic fabrication.
• Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, and maintain production equipment and facility systems.
• Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting for power distribution and control panels.
• Read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings to diagnose issues.
• Fabricate and repair machine components and fixtures.
• Operate machine shop equipment to manufacture precision parts.
• Perform welding, cutting, machining and fabrication tasks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize uptime.
• Maintain safety and adherence to procedures in a fast-paced environment.
• Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
