Job summary

Valeo is seeking a Mechatronics Engineering Co-Op in the United States to support R&D in the Electronic Design group. This part-time trainee/internship offers hands-on hardware debugging, sensor data validation, and circuit simulations on ADAS prototypes.

As a current student, you will rotate through Mechanical, Electrical and Environmental Validation & Testing, contributing to innovative automotive solutions while gaining practical industry experience.

Qualifications

• You are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Mechatronics, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering).
• Strong interest in hardware diagnostics and automotive electronics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with PCBa diagnostics and root cause analysis on ADAS hardware prototypes.
• Support sensor interface validation and data transmission checks (MIPI CSI-2, GMSL2).
• Perform circuit simulations and worst-case analyses using SIMetrix/SIMPLIS.

About the Role:

As a Mechatronics Engineering Co-Op, you will assist with:

• PCBa Diagnostics & Root Cause Analysis: Conduct hands‑on hardware debugging of ADAS ECU prototypes and domain controllers, using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to identify signal integrity issues or thermal hotspots within complex, multi‑layer high‑density interconnect (HDI) boards.

• Sensor Interface & Data Validation: Support analyzing front‑end analog conditioning circuits and validating high‑speed data transmission (e.g., MIPI CSI-2, GMSL2) from the sensor to the processing SoC.

• Circuit Simulation & Worst‑Case Analysis: Utilize SIMetrix/SIMPLIS to perform transient and AC analysis on power stages, ensuring circuit robustness against component tolerances and automotive voltage fluctuations (e.g., load dump scenarios).

What You Should Have:

• You are a currently a student pursuing your Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
