Job summary

Valeo North America is seeking a Quality Engineer Co-Op for Summer 2027 at our Hamilton, Ohio facility. This hands-on role supports quality engineering activities in automotive manufacturing, working with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and Supplier teams on product quality, process performance and continuous improvement.

The co-op focuses on learning automotive quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, MSA, and 8D, and contributes to defect reduction and process

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or related technical field.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate in a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Demonstrated interest in automotive manufacturing, quality assurance, and process improvement.
• Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing or engineering preferred.
• Must be available to work full-time during the Summer 2027 Co-Op semester.

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to quality issues using 8D.
• Support new product and process validation activities through testing, data collection, and analysis.
• Collect, analyze, and report quality performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with supplier quality activities, including supplier performance monitoring, audits, and corrective action follow-up.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and cross-functional teams to improve process capability and product quality.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on defect reduction, process optimization, and operational excellence.
• Support the preparation of quality reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
• Learn and apply automotive quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, MSA, and 8D.

Job Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar).
• Strong academic performance with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Demonstrated interest in automotive manufacturing, quality assurance, and process improvement.
• Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.
• Must be available to work full-time during the Summer 2027 Co-Op semester.
