Job summary

Oklo is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join our nuclear fuel recycling engineering team. The role designs automated systems and robotic material-handling equipment for remote-operated processes in radiological hot cells, collaborating with multiple disciplines across the facility.

Oak Ridge, TN area is preferred. Responsibilities include system design, CAD modeling, requirements generation, prototyping, and integration of automation into various systems, with documentation for fabrication,

Qualifications

Engineering degree in mechatronics, mechanical, robotics, electrical or related field.
5–10 years experience in automation or robotic system design.
Hands-on experience with PLCs, industrial automation and robotics programming.
Proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

Design robotic and electromechanical systems for remote handling in harsh environments.
Define architecture, specs, control logic and performance criteria for automated systems.
Integrate automation hardware, sensors and control systems for unmanned operations.
Lead automation and handling systems across their lifecycle.
