Job summary

Oklo is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and own equipment and mechanical components for our fuel manufacturing facilities. You will work across engineering teams to define requirements, ensure safety and standards compliance, and translate needs into manufacturable CAD designs with thorough documentation.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, coordinating analyses, and refining parts for fabrication with a focus on reliability, cost-effectiveness, and cross‑functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years in mechanical or structural design; 4+ years in relevant sectors.
• Proficient with 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and large assemblies.
• Experience with PDM/PLM version control.
• Strong understanding of DFM/DFA and GD&T; ASME Y14.5 aware.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own equipment/mechanical components for fuel fabrication facilities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define requirements and ensure safety/standards compliance.
• Create robust designs using CAD and generate 2D drawings and BOMs.
• Lead design reviews and provide technical feedback.
• Coordinate with analysis teams for thermal, structural, and safety analyses.
• Perform manufacturability reviews and tolerance analysis for fabrication.
