Job summary

Weave Robotics, Inc. is seeking an engineer to design and integrate electromechanical systems for home robots.

You will work on the robot base, arms, and enclosures while coordinating electronics packaging, grounding, and serviceability from day one. Responsibilities include harness design, thermal management at the robot level, peripheral design (charging dock, e-stop, indicators), and building/test infrastructure to verify performance before production.

Qualifications

• Experience designing electromechanical systems that shipped (robots, consumer hardware, vehicles).
• Mechanical fundamentals: CAD, tolerance stacks, GD&T, materials, DFM across machining, molding, sheet metal.
• Electrical fundamentals: read/design schematics, harnesses/interconnects, grounding/shielding, PCB layout review (KiCAD/Altium).
• Fast iteration: 3D print/quick prototyping, rapid tests.
• Bench/test: oscilloscope, multimeter, calipers, basic test rigs.

Responsibilities

• Design electromechanical assemblies: base, arms, structures, mounts, enclosures with integrated electronics packaging.
• Own the harnesses: wire gauging, connectors, routing, strain relief, clear drawings for harness shop.
• Own robot-level thermal: heat paths, heatsinks, fans, airflow, balancing acoustics.
• Design the robot periphery: charging dock, e-stop, lights, speakers, buttons.
• Build test infrastructure: rigs, fixtures, instrumented setups for design verification.
• Integrate and debug the whole robot: identify if fault is harness, board, or bracket.
• Support builds/production: EVT/DVT/DFM/DFA with manufacturing and design changes.
