Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer in Nashua, NH to design, develop, and commission automated mechanical and control systems from concept through installation. The role blends mechanical design with PLC/HMI programming and hands-on work in a fast-growth startup environment.

The ideal candidate will have 3–7+ years in automated equipment design, strong SolidWorks skills, and experience with PLCs, HMIs, and automation hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-7+ years designing automated equipment.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and reading mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical equipment, frames, and piping layouts in SolidWorks.
• Develop and maintain BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Program, troubleshoot, and validate PLC/HMI control systems.
• Read and create P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Support installation, startup, and commissioning at customer sites.
