Job summary
AFL manufactures industry-leading fiber optic cable, connectivity and accessories and provides engineering and installation services for telecom customers. The Maintenance Technician role focuses on maintaining production equipment, troubleshooting, and resolving failures with minimal supervision at our Duncan, SC plant.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years industrial maintenance experience.
- HS Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics preferred.
- Experience using electrical test equipment including multimeters, insulation testers, and oscilloscopes.
- Knowledge of PLCs, Variable Speed Drives, and CNC.
- Ability to read/comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Fundamental understanding of safety, quality, production, and cost controls.
- Experience with Oracle R12 procurement is a plus.
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
- Must be able to pass forklift operator certification and mobile equipment physical.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily maintenance support for production equipment including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/rebuild of equipment.
- Lone technician on shift with responsibility for entire plant breakdowns.
- Assist in installation and startup of new equipment.
- Maintain and upgrade equipment documentation, particularly electrical.
- Participate in development of equipment specifications for new systems.
- Adhere to environmental, health & safety policies.
