Job summary

Gates Corporation is seeking a Product Development Engineer for electro-mechanical systems in the Mechatronics group. You will develop, validate, and test drivetrains, gearboxes, motors, and e-bike integrations from concept through production release.

You will collaborate with electrical hardware, controls software, and manufacturing teams to optimize performance, energy use, and reliability while supporting DC and data center product lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or related field.
• 3+ years of electro-mechanical product development experience (e-mobility, automotive, bicycle, robotics).
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles including gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and structural components.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, NX).
• Hands-on prototyping, testing, programming and design validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electro-mechanical components and assemblies for e-mobility and other product applications.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Perform mechanical calculations and analysis for gears, bearings, shafts, and thermal management.
• Plan and execute prototype builds and testing activities.
• Support manufacturing process development and supplier collaboration.
