Job summary

The Gates Corporation seeks a Mechanical & Controls Development Engineer to advance product development, advanced manufacturing, automation, and process engineering in our Colorado facility. You will design, build, test, and improve equipment used in prototype and pilot production, applying mechanical and controls principles across cross-functional teams.

You will lead trials, validations, and technology transfer, while developing reliable control systems and data-driven process improvements for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related engineering field required.
• 6–10 years in manufacturing/product/process development or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of industrial automation and control systems.
• Experience with engineering software and MS Office.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Plan and execute engineering trials, process validations, and studies.
• Analyze data to optimize quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Drive technology transfer from development to manufacturing.
• Lead PLC, HMI, motion control, and data acquisition initiatives.
• Integrate sensors, vision systems, and robotics into processes.
